These hot drink recipes are the perfect thing to slice through the bitter cold in the middle of winter. There are plenty of hot drink choices to help you keep the cold away. Try one of these to warm you to the bones.
Hot Bomb
3/4 oz. Two Fingers Tequila
1/4 oz. Cinnamon Schnapps
Shake with ice; strain into a shot glass.
Hot Irish
1/2 slice Fresh Lemon
4 Cloves
2 tsp. Sugar (brown if available)
Pinch Cinnamon
Boiling Water
1-/2 oz. Jameson Irish Whiskey
Stud the Lemon Slice with Cloves. Put Lemon, Sugar, and Cinnamon into a warm glass. Add Boiling Water and Irish Whiskey. Stir well and serve.
Hot Irish and Port
1-1/2 oz. Bushmills Irish Whiskey
2 oz. Red or Tawny Port
2 oz. Water
Pour ingredients into a saucepan. Heat to boiling point but do not boil. Pour into a mug. Add a Cinnamon Stick and an Orange Slice.
Hot Irish Monk
2 oz. Bushmills Irish Whiskey
1 oz. Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur
4 oz. Hot Chocolate
Stir thoroughly and then add a thick cap of Whipped Cream; sprinkle with chopped, toasted Hazelnuts.
Hot Lips
1-1/2 oz. Finlandia Cranberry Vodka
1/4 oz. Goldschläger
Shake with ice and strain into a shot glass.
Leave the gold flakes if you’re feeling festive.
Hot Mist
2-1/2 oz. Irish Mist
2 oz. Boiling Water
Combine in the glass and garnish with a slice of Lemon and some Cloves.
Hot Pants
1/4 oz. Absolut Peppar Vodka
1 oz. Peach Schnapps
Combine over ice.
Hot Toddy
1-1/2 oz. Seagram’s V.O. Whisky
Hot Water
1 lump Sugar
2 Cloves
Pour Seagram’s into Hot Water. Add Sugar and Cloves. Stir.
Irish Cow
6 oz. Hot Milk
1 tsp. Sugar
1-1/2 oz. Irish Whiskey
Pour the Milk into a glass. Add the Sugar and Whiskey. Stir well.
Irish Coffee
1-1/4 oz. Irish Whiskey
Hot Coffee
Cream
Sugar
Pour Irish Whiskey in a warm glass or mug. Fill with Coffee. Stir in Cream and Sugar to taste.
Puerto Rican Rum Cappuccino
1-1/2 oz. Puerto Rican Dark Rum
1 tsp. Sugar
Hot Coffee
Steamed Milk
Whipped Cream
Ground Cinnamon
Combine the Rum and Sugar in a glass. Add equal parts Coffee and Milk. Top with Cream and Cinnamon.
