Another way to ensure your success is to find an accountabili-buddy, someone who is a friend, family member, or coworker who can hold you accountable. When you have an accountabili-buddy, exchange before photos and food journals. Sharing your food journal (which should include everything you eat and drink throughout the week) with your buddy at the end of every week will help to keep you motivated and on track.

Before you start your fasting journey, take before photos, best done in your bathing suit. Take one shot from the front, one from the side, and one from the rear. Then stash them away somewhere where you can't look at them for three months. After three months of fasting, snap your after photos and compare them to your before photos. You're going to like what you see.

This technique of before-and-after photos works for a couple of reasons:

  • Noticing progress is almost impossible when you see yourself every day. The changes on a day-to-day basis are nearly imperceptible, but you can't miss progress after three months.

  • Adhering to your fasting protocol is easier when you have a deadline. Seeing the amount of progress you've made after three months will skyrocket your motivation and increase the likelihood that fasting will become a permanent part of your lifestyle.
