If you have planned ahead, you have everything you need for the Quick Shopping Night Pasta Dinner for Two. Putting the meal together is a snap. Get out your recipe for Fusilli with Caramelized Onions and Kalamata Olives and follow these steps:

  1. Make the onion sauce for the pasta.

  2. Bring the water to a boil.

  3. Prepare the salad greens and vinaigrette while the water comes to a boil.

  4. Add the pasta to the boiling water.

  5. Set out the cheese and slice the baguette while the pasta cooks. Prepare the fruit. Toss the salad with the dressing.

  6. Drain the pasta, toss with the sauce, and serve with the remainder of the meal.

Every part of this menu can be scaled up or down directly. So if surprise guests stop by, simply double or even triple the recipe.
