Digital photography is great because you can check out your photos immediately after shooting them. With a Canon EOS 60D, you can even edit some image properties. You can enter Quick Control during playback and set several image properties. It’s a snap.

During playback, press Q.

Use the up and down arrows of the multicontroller to select a function from the left side of the screen.
There’s no need to press Set to activate the function. It happens automatically. You can tell what function you highlighted by the dialog title that appears at the bottom of the screen. The options appear under the function name. In this case, the Creative Filters are off. That needs to be rectified.
You can choose from the following list of functions (starting with the icon in the upper-left corner):

Protect Images: Prevent photos from being accidentally deleted.
Keep in mind that formatting the memory card does wipe out even protected photos.

Rotate: Rotate the current photo.

Rating: Rate photos from zero to five stars.

Creative Filters: Apply a filter to the selected photo. Options are Off, Grainy B/W, Soft Focus, Toy Camera Effect, and Miniature Effect.

Resize: Um, resize the current photo.

Highlight Alert: If enabled, show areas of the photo that are too bright. These areas (quite often the sky or bright reflections) slowly blink. This alerts you that the exposure may be too bright, and you need to let less light into the camera. You’ll see the “blinkies” regardless of what display format you’re in.

AF Point Display: Shows or hides autofocus points when reviewing photos.

Image Jump: Sets the jump behavior when using the Main dial during playback.

Use the left and right arrows of the multicontroller to switch function settings.

Press Q again to exit Quick Control and return to Playback.
No need to press Set. The settings are locked in.
