An image is a digital picture that can serve as the background for your graph screen. Inserting an image on the TI-84 Plus is a great backdrop to practice transforming functions.
Some images have been preloaded on your calculator. To insert an image that has been preloaded, follow these steps:
Press [2nd][ZOOM] to access the Format menu.
Use the up-arrow key to navigate your cursor to Background.
When your cursor is on Background, you get a preview of the color (or image) that takes up about half of the screen.
Use the up- and down-arrow keys to operate the menu spinner until you find the image you want.
You can store up to ten images on your calculator. See the first screen. Image1 through image5 are preloaded on your calculator.
Press [GRAPH] to see the image displayed as the background of the graph screen.
In the second screen, see a first attempt at transforming a parabola to fit the bridge image.
Alternatively, you can access images directly from the graph. Press [GRAPH, then press

and press [ENTER] to select BackgroundOn. These actions produce a spinner so that you can preview the images right on the graph as shown in the third screen.
