Apple was one of the first companies to take advantage of wireless networking technology. You can wirelessly connect two Mac computers together in just a couple of minutes. On the first computer, click the AirPort icon in the menu bar and choose create network. In the computer to computer window, type a name for your Ad-Hoc network. And just below that, select a channel number from the channel menu. If you want, you can check the box to require a password and enter a password in the next field. Now click ok.
Go the other computer and choose the AirPort icon. Then choose the desired computer to computer network. Just look for the name of the computer network you created and select from the menu. When the computers are connected, you can access the other computer.
Click on the finder icon in the doc to open a new finder window. In the side bar, look under shared and choose My Network. Now click the name of the computer you want to access. Click connect and log into the remote computer using that computer's user name and password. Here you can see that I'm connected.
Now when you're done using the computer to computer network, click the AirPort icon and choose disconnect from current network. Now you're flying solo again.
